Adolescent Counselling / Psychotherapy
Adolescent Counselling / Psychotherapy service Naas Kildare Dublin
Adolescents successfully meet most challenges posed by the various stages of their development.

When they are unable to do so, problems manifest themselves through difficulties in learning, relationships and in emotional & behavioural development.

Young people and their families can be helped to work through these stages.

Counselling is a safe place for teens to explore their thoughts, feelings and concerns without being judged.

At the Personal Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre it is our policy to:

Respect and believe young people.
Give young people a voice.
Value young people’s stories and personal histories.
Provide support on behalf of the young person and work with parents/guardians if necessary.
Take appropriate action to ensure young people are safe and free from abuse.

The counsellor can work in a variety of ways to help you express yourself e.g. Art work, games etc. You will work together with your counsellor to find what suits you. Sometimes you may just want to talk. Young people come for counselling for many reasons; For example, difficulties with:

Relationships – siblings, parents, friends, teachers, peers.
Alcohol and Drugs
Self-harm
Suicidal thoughts.
Bullying
Low self esteem and confidence.
Bereavement and loss.
Parents splitting up.
Feeling fed up.
Abuse and violence.
