In individual psychotherapy or counselling you meet weekly at an agreed time with the same counsellor or psychotherapist for a number of exploratory sessions during which a decision is then mutually agreed as to whether further counselling or psychotherapy is appropriate.
It is rarely possible to predict in advance how quickly the problem one meets with in life can be resolved.
