Marriage & Relationship Counselling
Marriage and Relationship Counselling is for individuals and couples who need to make changes in their present situation. Distress may be caused by growing conflict, difficulty with acknowledging or expressing feelings, sexual problems or a range of other factors.

This work can help you understand and come to terms with the problems in your relationship and help you to work towards your own solutions.

Couples counselling provides a meeting point for couples in a non-blaming setting. Each Partner in the relationship is respected and accepted.

Each couples relationship is unique and already contains within it the seeds of the solution to any difficulties that might occur. Couples counselling is about helping the couple to uncover, nurture and nourish these seeds.

People come to couples counselling for a variety of reasons, including:

Communication
Conflict and power struggles
Extramarital affairs
Considering marriage
Considering separation/divorce
Lack of emotional satisfaction
Lack of trust and intimacy
Concerns specific to the individual couple.

The couple initially meets with a therapist to explore the history of the relationship, answer any questions, explain the way we work and establish whether couples work is the best option at this point. Couples sessions usually last between 60 and 90 minutes. Couples may be seen weekly or fortnightly according to the needs of the couple.
