At BetterCare™, we recognise that communication is at the heart of mental wellbeing. Our Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) service offers specialist support for individuals experiencing difficulties with speech, language, communication, and swallowing—challenges that can often co-occur with mental health conditions. Our therapists work with individuals experiencing these issues as part of or alongside mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, neurological conditions, or developmental disorders. It addresses a wide range of issues, including: Speech difficulties (e.g., unclear speech, stammering, apraxia) Language impairments (difficulty understanding or using language) Social communication challenges (e.g., in ASD or social anxiety) Voice disorders (hoarseness, vocal strain) Swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) Initial consultation €250- necessary for gathering important background information. If the appointment is for a child, we’ll speak with their parent or caregiver first (typically takes 15 minutes). Next, the therapist will carry out an informal assessment to better understand yours or your child’s communication needs. For younger children, this is often done through play-based activities. You’ll receive verbal feedback on the day, and written feedback afterward. Parental Guidance: €250 Designed for parents concerned about their child’s communication and seeking professional guidance. Your child will not be present at this session. It’s a chance to talk with a Speech and Language Therapist, ask questions, and receive helpful advice and strategies to use at home. Especially suited for parents of children aged 12 to 36 months, or for children who find it difficult to focus at a typical session. After consultation, you’ll receive written feedback along with useful resources. Additional 30 minute therapy sessions can be scheduled as needed— depending on what suits your goals and level of support.
